Many faces of garnets...

So, I only just realised that I have a variety of garnet. So have put them all together so you can see too! I did not know before this journey just how many crystals and minerals and varieties of each there were. and garnet is my birthstone, I always thought they were just red!! Oh no...They come in an array of colours, shapes and sizes. The dodecahedron form of some makes them stand out from the crowd, so to speak (see grey rock with wee protruding red garnets).

GARNET

'Silicates of various metals. Varying in colour depending on the particular combination from, red, brown, white, yellow to apple-green or black.

Versatile stones, recommended to be placed over the third eye to relieve headaches, as a necklace for general health and held over the Spleen area to stimulate it. The green Garnet is said to have a purifying effect.

I have found it a stone particularly of benefit to the wearer. It is a stone that has a delicate vibration and needs to be worn for some time for the body to absorb it. Many people respond very well to this stone.

I have occasionally used it in healing sessions. When doing so it has usually been in quantity, a number of small stones sprinkled about the client.

The raw crystal form of a brown dodecahedron is quite effective for healing as well as the polished stones, or it can be worn in the form of polished stones.'
