Indian Iolite and Madagascar Iolite are the most sought-after of these origin kinds due to their vitreous sheen and vivid hue. The color of iolite varies from light to dark blue, with a purplish tinge. This pleochroic gemstone (also known as Dichroite) exhibits changing color tones depending on the angle from which it is seen. Some common color types are bluish-violet Iolite, bluish-purple Iolite, and yellowish-gray Iolite. In general, for astrological purposes, a vivid medium to deep blue-colored Iolite gemstone is preferred.
