Garnet comes in various colurs and hues, from rich ruby red through to emerald green.  This particular garnet is known as Pyrope as its colour is red, with a tint of brown.  More brown is known as Hessonite, and green Tsavorite of which we have both for sale here...(enter into search bar).
It is birthstone for January.
