One face polished agate
✨ Ancient geometry revealed in stone, rare, precise, and quietly otherworldly. ✨
Polyhedral Agate is a highly unusual and rare variety of agate / quartz recognised for its naturally formed multi-sided shapes. Unlike the rounded forms typical of most agates, these stones show clear geometric faces, giving them a distinctive and almost architectural appearance.
This specimen has one polished face, revealing the agate structure within while leaving the natural outer geometry intact. The contrast allows both the internal banding and the unusual exterior form to be appreciated at the same time.
Polyhedral Agates were discovered in the mid-1970s in Paraíba, Brazil, and are believed to have formed in cavities between large crystals of Angel Wing Calcite. They have not been mined since that time, making authentic pieces increasingly difficult to encounter.
